On June 6, 2015 at approximately 10:15 pm, the Flemington Borough Police Department attempted to stop a motorcycle being operated at a high rate of speed on Route 31 northbound. The officer activated his lights and sirens and attempted to stop the motorcycle. The motorcyclist accelerated at a high rate of speed and began passing vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway. Hunterdon County Communications was notified and alerted the surrounding municipalities. The Flemington Borough Police did not pursue the vehicle. Shortly after, the motorcycle was observed by a Clinton Township Police cruiser. The driver immediately accelerated at a high rate of speed well above the posted speed limit and the motorcycle exited onto Interstate 78 westbound until the pursuit was terminated at the Pennsylvania toll bridge.
The Clinton Township Police Department was able to provide two images of the motorcyclist from the dashboard camera.
